Power-Hard Reset Chromebook (Chromebook not powering on or charging)

Reset your Chromebook hardware

(Example: HP Chromebook 11 x360 - G3 EE)

To fix some Chromebook problems, you might need to reset your Chromebook hardware, also called a hard reset.

It will restart your Chromebook hardwareThis will not affect any files in google, google classroom, gmail..etc.

Hard reset your Chromebook

For most Chromebooks, follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure chromebook is plugged in to power

  2. Lift up the lid of the chromebook so you see the keyboard.

  3. Your device should power on now.  If your device still does not power on, it’s probably due to the battery not being charged.  You may need to plug in the device and then do the hard reset.  Then keep your device plugged in to charge the battery.
